The "Pay Per Download" component can be used to restrict user access to resources based on their membership level. This component was initially developed to sell joomla extensions that were managed with Phoca Download, its first name was PhocaPayPal. Now, it has been upgraded to restrict access to any type of resource on a Joomla web site. Thanks to Joomla plugin system, now other developers can adapt their own extensions to "Pay Per Download".

How to use the encryption component.

  • Install the Encryption component. Once the component is installed every time a user tries to login to Joomla (client or admin side) the password will be encrypted on the web browser before it is submitted to the server, where it will be decrypted. Passwords are also encrypted when an administrator changes a user's password, when a user registers and when a registered user changes his own password.

How to use Pay per Download component:

  • Install the component.
  • Download, install and enable the appropiate plugin for the resource you want to sell.
  • Go to menu item “Pay per Download – Licenses”
  • Click “New” to create a new license.
  • Use this data as example: Name: Special Membership at yoursite.com for one year. Member Title: Special Member. Expiration (days): 365    (one year). Price: 10. Currency Code: USD. Level: 1 (A higher-level license will allow access to all resources for lower-level licenses). Description: (Optional).
